JucheNorth Korea works under the official state philosophy, Juche
In a 1955 speech, the first known reference to Juche is made. Kim Il-sung said: "To make revolution in Korea we must know Korean history and geography as well as the customs of the Korean people. Only then it is possible to educate our people in a way that suits them and to inspire in them an ardent love for their native place and their motherland." With this, North Korea undertook the three fundamental principles of Juche: Political Independence, Economic self sustenance, and self reliance in defence |

North Korea is currently known as the most authoritarian regime in the world. There is only one leader, and this is not about to change. Each cultural, financial, and industrial decision is made by Kim Jung-un, and his beliefs will be represented throughout the whole country. While the North Korean constitution formally guarantees protection of human rights, in practice there are severe limits on freedom of expression, and the government closely supervises the lives of North Korean citizens. Kim Jong-un exercises absolute control over the government and the country, forcing his beliefs on the country as a whole.
